Jeannine Gogoleski
Jeannine Gogoleski has proudly served the Hartland community for more than 33 years through leadership, volunteerism, and a lifelong commitment to education, the arts, and public service. As a dedicated trustee of the Cromaine District Library, she has held the roles of both President and Vice President of the Board. Jeannine has contributed on the Personnel and Community Relations committees, and she has also been part of the Music Hall and Cromaine Heritage Gardens Advisory ad hoc committees, showcasing her strong dedication to library community support.
A lifetime member of the Friends of Cromaine, Jeannine has been a steadfast supporter of the library's mission and programs, which align with the efforts of Cromaine Family Advocates in enriching our area. She has volunteered at numerous community events including outdoor workdays at the historic Hartland Music Hall, the Hartland Memorial Day Parade, and Vintage Christmas. Jeannine worked diligently to preserve the annual Handel's Messiah Concert, a beloved Hartland tradition celebrated for over 100 years. She has also provided financial support for vital initiatives such as the Cromaine Heritage Gardens and the Killgen Organ Fund, underscoring her commitment to community services in Hartland.
Jeannine values the many educational, cultural, and enrichment opportunities that Cromaine offers residents of all ages. She is particularly excited about the development of the Cromaine Commons, a project poised to further enhance the library's role as a gathering place for the community.
Beyond her service to Cromaine, Jeannine has devoted countless volunteer hours to organizations that strengthen Hartland. She is an active member of the Hartland Lions Club and has contributed through Bountiful Harvest, the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, Walk for Warmth of Livingston County, and many other important community initiatives.
Jeannine also served the Hartland Consolidated Schools for 18 years, closely collaborating with parents, teachers, and administrators to support student success. She helped develop materials for the Hartland Parents for Kids (HP4K) program and was actively engaged in robotics, Science Olympiad coaching, and PTO activities.
Through all these years of service, Jeannine has remained steadfast in her commitment to responsible financial stewardship, preserving Hartland's rich cultural heritage, and ensuring that future generations continue to benefit from a vibrant library and community. She is honored to serve on the Cromaine Board and looks forward to continuing her support for its mission and the people of Hartland.
Dawn Smith
Dawn M. Smith, RN, MSN, CNS, became a registered nurse in 1995. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University. Additionally, she obtained certification and licensure as both an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).
For 16 years, Dawn served as the Clinical Nurse Specialist for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). Her expertise includes evaluating clinical research to establish evidence-based standards of care, selecting appropriate treatment protocols, and improving outcomes for cardiac patients. Throughout her career, she has authored and co-authored numerous clinical policies and procedures, while leading a variety of multidisciplinary clinical committees.
Dawn also worked with The Joint Commission, conducting reviews of Destination Therapy Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) programs at hospitals across the country. Drawing on her expertise in temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support devices, she evaluated hospital compliance with quality improvement and patient safety standards required for certification.
As a member of the leadership team for a Detroit CVICU during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dawn helped lead her unit through one of the most challenging periods in modern healthcare. With more than 25 years of nursing experience, she provided leadership while continuing to care for critically ill patients at the bedside throughout 2020 and 2021.
Since 2018, Dawn and her husband have been residents of Brighton Township. She currently serves her local community as an elected Trustee of the Cromaine District Library Board in Hartland and actively supports Cromaine Family Advocates' initiatives. Since 2024, she has also served as Chairperson of the Livingston County Health Advisory Committee. This committee acts as a fact-finding and advisory body to both the Livingston County Board of Commissioners and the Livingston County Board of Health.
Dawn is dedicated to advocating for the health and well-being of Livingston County residents while enhancing Hartland community services. She is passionate about supporting the Cromaine District Library's mission to maintain a balanced, diverse, and responsive collection that meets the needs of the entire community.
Becky Basley
Becky is running for re-election to the Cromaine District Library Board of Trustees because she believes the library is one of the Hartland community's most valuable resources for families, children, lifelong learners, and future generations. As a strong advocate for Cromaine Family Advocates, she recognizes the library's role in fostering community support.
As a retired financial professional, Becky understands the significance of fiduciary responsibility, sound financial oversight, transparency, and careful stewardship of public resources. During her service on the Cromaine District Library Board, she has held positions as both Treasurer and Vice President and has been an active participant in the Cromaine Commons Advisory Committee.
Becky's dedication to Cromaine extends well beyond the boardroom. She proudly supports the library by volunteering at events such as Vintage Christmas in the Village of Hartland, marching in the Hartland Memorial Day Parade, participating in the revival of the Handel's Messiah concert, and assisting during the Cromaine Music Hall cleanup and maintenance day. Additionally, she is a lifetime member of the Friends of Cromaine.
Community service has been a cornerstone of Becky’s life, both personally and professionally. Throughout her career, she has served as a Corporate and Departmental United Way Champion, organizing and leading numerous fundraising campaigns that consistently reached participation and fundraising goals. Her volunteer work also includes supporting The Parade Company in Detroit, Gleaners Community Food Bank, and the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
Becky and her family proudly served as puppy foster parents for Paws With A Cause, where they helped raise and train a Golden Retriever named Pluto for a future of service. Becky is committed to ensuring that the Cromaine District Library remains financially strong, responsive to the needs of the community, and a welcoming space where residents of all ages can learn, connect, and thrive. She would be honored to continue serving as a member of the Cromaine District Library Board of Trustees.
